From a Family Kitchen to Ellisville's Favorite

It all started in 1998 when Dewey himself — a second-generation Italian-American with a grandmother's recipe and a dream — opened the very first Dewey's Pizza in a modest corner of Ellisville, Missouri. With a used dough mixer, three toppings, and an unshakeable belief that great pizza could change someone's day, Dewey turned a tiny space into a beloved neighborhood institution.

Through the years, Dewey's became a place where families celebrated milestones, friends gathered after games, and first dates turned into love stories. We never forgot those roots. Every pie we make honors the original promise: honest food, crafted with care, served with warmth.

1998

The First Oven Fires Up

Dewey opens the original location in Ellisville, MO with a 12-seat dining room, three pizzas on the menu, and a secondhand oven he named "Big Red."

2003

Expanding the Menu

Customer demand drives Dewey's to add specialty pies, calzones, and house-made salads. The Signature BBQ Chicken becomes an overnight sensation.

2008

Moved to Clarkson Clayton Center

A bigger space, a bigger oven, and a full bar — the new location at 1312 Clarkson Clayton Center becomes the heart of the Ellisville community.

2015

Award-Winning Recognition

Dewey's earns "Best Pizza in St. Louis County" from Feast Magazine, and is named a top family dining destination by local readers' polls three years running.

2019

Online Ordering Launched

Dewey's brings its legendary flavors to your doorstep with a new online ordering system, making it even easier to enjoy a slice from the comfort of home.
